SUTTER HEALTH PARK GETS MAJOR LEAGUE READY
A Triple-A ballpark transforms to host Major League Baseball, with GoVision and i5LED delivering a powerful upgrade to the fan experience.
As Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento prepared to host Major League Baseball with the arrival of the Athletics — alongside maintaining its longtime role as home to the AAA Sacramento River Cats — the venue undertook several major offseason upgrades. Supporting this effort, the combined GoVision and i5LED team delivered new, high-impact visual elements that give the already beautiful stadium a now big-league feel and fan experience.

Challenge
Having a short runway of time before the 2025 MLB season began, Sutter Health Park took on a significant technology refresh. The centerpiece: replacement of an
aging centerfield LED display with a modern, broadcastready showcase display that had to look amazing on national TV as well as in every fan’s smartphone selfie. Additionally, GoVision and i5 were charged with repurposing existing display structure and hardware to help the A’s and River Cats maximize their venue upgrade
budget.
Solution
Working in close collaboration, GoVision and i5LED delivered a comprehensive display solution tailored to meet and exceed the demands of Major League Baseball. At the heart of the upgrade is a 75’-7” x 31’-6” 10mm LED display in right-center field, engineered for high refresh rates (assuring smooth video playback and no scan lines on camera), sharp contrast, and exceptional visibility and performance in full California summer sun. The display was built from the ground up, requiring new structural piers, columns, and catwalk access to ensure stability and optimal sightlines from every seat in the stadium. The display is calibrated to
look just as stunning in fan photos and smartphone videos as it does on national TV broadcasts.
To squeeze additional value from the park’s original 10+ year-old centerfield display, the GoVision and i5LED teams re-engineered and relocated the original structural cabinets and display modules to create a new 195’ x 7’-4” ribbon board above the left field wall — delivering an impressive digital canvas without the cost of all-new structure and hardware.
Finally, two compact 4mm LED backstop displays were added behind home plate to give the team premium sponsorship inventory for televised branding and in-game messaging.
Result
The transformation delivered an immersive stadium digital experience worthy of Major League Baseball — on time and on budget. The new right center field display anchors every game visually, both in-stadium and virtually on screens, while the upgraded ribbon and backstop displays enhance fan engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
By blending new technology with smart reuse of existing assets, GoVision and i5LED made Sutter Health Park a show-ready MLB venue — proving that with the right team an already stunning Triple-A ballpark can quickly get the call up to the big leagues.
