CTVS

Validate high-speed camera timing with nanosecond control.

Check exposure duration, frame timing and synchronization against an LED timing pattern the camera records.

KEY FEATURES

The i5LED Camera Timing Validation System is an independent optical timing reference for high-speed cameras. It generates controlled LED timing patterns that a camera records. By examining those patterns, a test engineer can evaluate exposure timing, exposure duration and frame cadence. When an IRIG-B timing signal (the standard format used to distribute time of day across test equipment) is connected, a supported mode overlays decoded time of day on the pattern. IRIG-B is optional; CTVS runs free-running from its internal oscillator without it.

Measure camera timing from the recorded image.

A camera setting describes intended operation. CTVS provides a separate optical reference for checking what the sensor actually captured: when an exposure occurred, how long it lasted, and how that timing changes across frames or between cameras. The timing pattern is recorded through the camera’s imaging path rather than added as a software timestamp. Retain the images, CTVS configuration and reference status with the test record so the timing comparison can be analyzed later.

Nested patterns support checks with a free-running camera. Other modes provide adjustable sweeps and exposure-boundary fiducials. Select the mode and timing scale for the measurement. The optical measurement does not require a data connection to the camera.

Specify visible tiles, mid-wave infrared (MWIR) tiles, or a mixed build with both. Mixed units provide optical targets for visible and MWIR cameras on a common timing platform.

Connect the unit to your control computer with one Ethernet cable and open its built-in web application in a browser. No software to install. A REST API supports
automated test scripts.
